Prevent Data Breaches

Secure Pull-Printing

PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR CUSTOMERS

It happens more than you realize: sensitive and confidential information being left out in the open for all to see. But the solution to this problem is simple, and does not require the costly purchase and upkeep of personal printers.

Secure Pull-Printing software makes all printouts confidential, protecting your data, saving you money, and granting you peace of mind.

How does it work?

This is done through requiring authentication before the printed document can be received. Requiring authentication at the printer by having the end-user type in a PIN number or swipe a smart card adds a further layer of security by virtually assuring that no physical prints are left behind, or picked up by someone else.

Let us help you get there.

Enabling end-users to print to a central print queue and retrieve their print jobs with a swipe of their security badge will secure your environment – but we know that getting there isn’t always easy.

Depending upon the age and mix of various models in your printer/copier environment, there can be many different ways to get to the end goal of balancing security, cost, and convenience.

As both an HP Access Control and PaperCut partner, we can help you achieve a more secure print environment in a manner that makes most sense for your company. We will analyze your current environment and provide consultation on the optimal software to meet your goals.

As both an HP & PaperCut partner, we can help you choose which solution is the better fit for your office.

HP Access Control Vs. PaperCut MF

WHICH IS A BETTER FIT FOR YOUR OFFICE?

PaperCut MF is licensed per user and is a good fit for organizations that have a mix of printer, copier & MFP models from different manufacturers, and do not have the budget to standardize their equipment.  It is also a better fit for organizations that require end-users to pay for their printing.

PAPERCUT PROS = Vendor Agnostic & Supports Payment Gateways

HP Access Control is licensed per device and is a good fit for organizations that newer HP printers/MFPs/copiers or have the budget to upgrade their equipment.

HP ACCESS CONTROL PROS = Easier to troubleshoot, More Choices for Authentication, Scanning Integration, Job Selection on Printers

HP ACCESS CONTROL IS EASIER TO TROUBLESHOOT DUE TO HAVING A LESS COMPLEX ARCHITECTURE
An embedded integration is available not only on HP MFPs, but on HP printers as well.  If you go with a PaperCut solution, for printers you have to program an External IP device to re-direct prints to a particular printer, adding a layer of complexity.

HP ACCESS CONTROL HAS MORE CHOICES FOR AUTHENTICATION = EASIER FOR END USERS
Unlike PaperCut, more than one authentication method is possible on both MFPs & printers.  For instance, one of our clients provides end-users with the ability to swipe their badge, or enter a PIN should they misplace their badge, to retrieve their prints.  With PaperCut only badge swiping is possible to retrieve jobs from printers.

IMPROVED SECURITY WITH SCANNING INTEGRATION
Not only can you make printing more secure, but you can make scanning more secure as well.  The software can be configured to show only the logged in user's personal network folder or e-mail address to scan to, and this functionality can be managed centrally saving IT administrators time.  For environments with high volume scanning needs, dedicated HP network scanners can be utilized instead of multifunction printers and be integrated with badge swiping for authentication.

REDUCE WASTE WITH JOB SELECTION ABILITIES ON BOTH PRINTERS & MFPs/COPIERS
If you have HP printer models with larger control panels (such as the HP LJ M605x), you can enable job selection in which the end-users jobs do not automatically print upon authentication, but rather they need to select which jobs they want to print.  With PaperCut, this is only possible on MFPs/Copiers, not on printers.
